Last week, the federal government and state Attorneys General signed a settlement with Wall Street banks over the ‘robo-signing’ scandal, when banks were wrongly foreclosing on homeowners without the proper documentation. The settlement is meant to provide help for homeowners who were victims of the Wall Street and the big banks’ deception and fraud.
But not if Governor Scott Walker gets his way.
Governor Walker wants to pocket $25 million of the money allocated to Wisconsin to fill his budget gap and pay for his tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations.
Even with 11 million American homeowners underwater today and millions more have gone through foreclosure since the mortgage meltdown, Scott Walker thinks it’s the 1% that need the extra cash — not the homeowners cheated by the banks.
This is outrageous.
Tell the Obama Administration: Don’t let Gov. Walker take money from struggling homeowners for the benefit of millionaires.
